After five years coaching the Quebec Provincial Team, Guillaume Turgeon is in his first year as the Lead Coach of the NexGen Mogul Institute Team, working with the next generation of world class mogul skiers. Turgeon, who was on the National Mogul Team himself for two years, learned to ski with his family at Mt. St-Anne in Quebec.
The coach of the mogul club team at Mt. St-Anne approached Turgeon and asked him to try out for the team. From there, Turgeon moved up to the Quebec team for three years and then skied with the National team from 2005-2007.
Shortly after his own ski career ended, Turgeon became the coach of the Quebec team’s development group for the 2008-2009 season. In addition to coaching, he was also working as a physical education teacher, which he said helped him in his coaching career. In 2014-2015, he was named the head coach of the high performance Quebec team before moving on to the National team this season.
