Alex Bellemare

When athletes went to PyeongChang, South Korea, in February of 2016 for an Olympic Test Event, held in conjunction with the FIS World Cup tour, skiers from around the tour gave the course rave reviews for its creativity.

Competing there was an opportunity for Olympic hopefuls to see what the 2018 Games might be like and test themselves out. On the men’s side, Alex Bellemare took home the victory in what was the first FIS World Cup title of his young career – a performance that would earn him Freestyle Canada’s 2016 Slopestyle Most Outstanding Performance of the Year Award.

Alex has come a long way in his career from the days where he used to work at McDonald’s before becoming into pro skier. Known as one of the most exciting athletes in the world, Alex also holds at 2015 X Games bronze medal.

Most recently, Alex showed off his creativity by winning the third SLVSH Cup, a new event where skiers compete in head-to-head match-ups where competitors pick the tricks and both have to complete them, in a final showdown against Norway’s Øystein Bråten.

Outside of skiing, Alex Bellemare is a big fan of Harry Potter books and cites the series as a big part of his childhood. He also loves playing guitar and skateboarding.
