Athlete Bio

Following the path of TJ Schiller, Noah Morrison, Patrick Dew, and Elena Gaskell, Tate started skiing when he was only two years old. Tate and his dad would walk up the base of the hill in the Vernon village area and then ski down with his father holding him. By the time Tate was 6 years old he had joined the Silver Star freestyle club and began skiing every weekend. Tate moved through all of the levels at the Silver Star club before eventually moving to the Whistler Freestyle Club.

Tate aspires to the highest level of Slopestyle and Big Air skiing. His aim is to maintain a healthy, successful career as a competitive freestyle skier and compete in events such as the Olympic Winter Games, the X Games, and World Cups. Tate also want to explore and develop his own style while becoming a well-rounded skier in other avenues such as Film parts, Urban skiing and backcountry. Most of all Tate would like to be able to inspire the upcoming generations to chase their passions and do what they love.

When Tate is not skiing, he is usually bouncing on a trampoline or hitting his backyard rail set-up. Tate also enjoys mountain biking and exploring the Okanagan with friends and family. Tate hopes to continue as a freestyle ski coach watching kids progress their skiing and seeing them fall in love with the sport.
